Picture of Sautee Nacoochee, GA10-22-2007There is a small town to the east of Helen, Georgia called Sautee-Nacoochee. It's sort of spread out without really having a "main street". But, there is a very nice little area at the intersections of Highway 17 and 255. We stopped there for lunch one day. There was this rather large complex of artist studios and such in Sautee. It was a kind of conglomeration of little shops. Though you could only tell by looking at it from one side. From the other, it just looked like a regular store with a parking lot. Across the street, the Old Sautee Store was sort of an old fashion general store. Next to the Old Sautee Store was the Old Sautee Market. This little stone building was called the Old Sautee Market, which was a sandwich shop.
