Pictures of Ellijay, GA

Ellijay is a fairly large town. It's got several built up streets. At the town's center is a roundabout. I hate roundabouts. I almost got into a wreck. The center of town felt a bit closed in. It was difficult to get wide shots, but I managed to get this one as we left a Kayak shop. There was a bit of construction going on by the Gilmer County Courthouse when we were there.

Here's Jeannemarie sitting in front of a memorial in the center of Ellijay's Roundabout.

Ellijay is definitly a Georgia mountain town. The whole place is surrounded by mountains. You can easily see them looking down the streets from the center of the town.

There were lots of anitque shops in the town. They were even on the roundabout at the center on the roundabout.

Here was one of the many antique store in Ellijay. The little log cabin on the right was a real estate office. We stopped by and grabbed a bunch of flyers. We went in the antique store too. They sold sourwood honey their for 10 bucks for 44 ounces. That's the best price I've seen so far and great news since Elijay is so much closer than Gatlinburg, the only other place I've found sourwood honey.
