Train Depot, Woodstock, GA11-06-2006Like so many North Georgia towns, Woodstock has a train station at its center. The town started as a stop Louisville and Nashville railroad line. This one has a red caboose also parked next to it. You can also see some very large buildings behind it. I think they were condos but they may have been office buildings. The depot now houses the Downtown Development association. In addition to the rail line, Woodstock has a number of nearby waterways that attracted industry in the 19th century. Today it is one of the fastest growing towns in the state. Dozens of huge apartment complexes are going up in the area. It’s really becoming another Atlanta suburb, especially with I575 running so nearby. 0 comments.Category: [Woodstock]
