Post Office, Tiger, GA12-18-2006Apparently, the town has two legends regarding the source of it's name. One is that it is named for a Cherokee Chief called Tiger Tail. The other is that it came from the local population of wild cats. There is a nearby mountain named Tiger Mountain which probably has the same name source. The town was incorporated in 1904 and is the home of Rabun County High School. 0 comments.Category: [Tiger]
